Beginning July 1, 2025, all certificated educators who serve grades 7–12 will be required to complete the PRISM professional learning series, a set of thoughtfully developed online courses aligned to AB 5. In this session, we’ll walk through what to expect from the first three courses: Course 1: LGBTQ+ 101 and Intersecting Identities, Course 2: LGBTQ+ History and Culture, and Course 3: Preventing Bullying, Harassment, and Discrimination for LGBTQ+ Students. More than a checklist, these courses are designed to deepen understanding, shift school climate, and build inclusive practices that last.

This session isn’t just an overview—it’s a planning conversation. Whether you're a site leader, district administrator, counselor, or teacher, you’ll leave with practical guidance on what it takes to roll this out thoughtfully and sustainably. We'll discuss phases of planning, staffing and scheduling considerations, and how to approach the learning with intention. Most importantly, we'll ground the session in why this matters: the safety, dignity, and thriving of LGBTQ+ students—especially those with intersecting identities.

Come ready to think ahead, ask questions, and leave with a clearer picture of what’s coming and how to lead it well.
