About me
Maria Al-Shamma (she/her) is Lead District Social Worker & LGBTQ+ Youth Liaison in Oceanside Unified School District. She serves on the boards of both the North County LGBTQ Resource Center and the California Association of School Social Workers. She is a , Welcoming Schools National Trainer and also provides various trainings for her school district. She is a parent of a trans non-binary young adult and an activist who works to ensure that LGBTQ+ students are safe, welcomed, affirmed and loved.
