2025 ACSA Lead With Pride Summit

Kena Hazelwood (ey/em) has been involved in public education for over 20 years. As a high school student with an emerging understanding of ier queerness the innovative queer-affirming initiatives of San Francisco Unified School District's LGBTQ+ Student Services helped Kena feel safe and seen. Ey are honored to now helm this program as the District Coordinator. Kena brings eir background as a classroom teacher, race and reproductive justice advocate, education researcher, and keynote speaker, to the work ey do to create district-spanning, individually-uplifting interventions at SFUSD. Ey holds a BA in political studies from Bard College, an MS in TESOL from CCNY CUNY, and an MEd in Educational Psychology from UC Berkeley.
